As I said in my original note, Clooz helps me organize all my documents,
though any Access or dBase type database could do similar work. I don't use the
census or various forms in Clooz. I enter everything as a document, and I
enter the least amount of info about the document. What I like best about Clooz
is the ease with which I can link people to a document.

As anyone who does Massachusetts research knows, over 200 Mass towns have
printed vital records books, usually from the 1700's to 1850. I have a lot of
Annable ancestors in Hamilton, Mass. The birth/marriage/death records for my
Hamilton Annable (surname) ancestors cover several pages and several different
families. I save time by just entering Annable Family rather than listing each
Annable person's birth, marriage, and death info. All the Annable births,
for instance, are together in one acid free sheet with the Birth xxxx code
number. I then put the Birth xxxx number in Clooz with Annable Family as the
person. The individual birth data on each person goes into TMG. I now have
started adding the Clooz Birth xxxx number when I enter the data into TMG.

If I later have a question about my source, I can find the original source by
looking up the Birth xxxx in my notebook.

As I said, this can be done in any database program. I just find it easier
to enter brief info in Clooz, along with the ancestors names. It's also
possible to print out various reports in Access. There are some reports that can be
generated from Clooz, though I haven't found them too useful, possibly
because I don't add as much info in Clooz as many other people do.
