I think that the "Master Document" feature of Word for Windows has been
rounding critized by power users of Word and experts. Best advise is to not
try and use it. Someone already warned that it messes up your work and
drives one mad. Franklin

Ditto for me ..... Word and I have agreed to disagree on most issues. I
also though this option might be my salvation but beg to report I have not
been able to make the "master documents" feature bend to my will. Any
expert out there who has used this feature? How did you make a master
index from the chapter documents? How did you make the page numbering work
properly?
