I own a well-thumbed copy of "HTML For Dummies" myself, as well as a number
of other "... For Dummies" books, with their distinctive yellow and black
covers. I also use Notepad as an HTML editor when working with Second Site
template files, although I prefer WordPad.
I think you are correct in that there is no option to embed links to
sources within the narrative. Citations are handled by superscripted
numbers which refer to footnotes. That might be an interesting enhancement,
although to me, embedded citations create clutter and more difficult reading.
It is not difficult to have "the particular information [the citation]
refers to [identified] via a number or code and then hyperlinked to that
particular source and have all sources on one page". All one has to do to
get this result is set Pages --> Page Sizes --> Sources per Page to an
arbitrarily high number, larger than the number of sources used in the
site. Second Site citations are already referred to via a code and then
hyperlinked to that particular source. The code is the letter S followed by
a number.
