You are seeing one of the limitations of TMG fields. Actually I thought
it stopped at 21. I have a list of limitations on my website, if you
would like to look at them. Some of them have been added to since the
site was created, and I haven't had time to update it yet, so in some
areas, you will get better mileage than posted. <G> So for now, you
will have to make shorter names. <G>

Hello everyone,

I am trying to add new roles to my Marriage event tags to specify
multiple marriages a la James Colgate's posting last November (Thanks
James!)

In the "new role" window, I can only enter 20 characters in the "name of
new role" bar - the 20th key stroke enters and simultaneously activates
the "ok" button. I can use the mouse to get back to the "name of new
role" bar but additional text can only be added by erasing some of
what's already been entered.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening, and possible workarounds -
apart from using shorter names :-) ? This is happening with 5.10.000,
Windows 2000NT.
