I appreciate your diligence regarding software copyright.

To be clear, we are not using the same license code. I purchased a copy of
the program, as a gift, for him this July while he was visiting. So the
e-mail verification came to me.

I then downloaded the software, burned it to CD and gave it to him with a
text file containing the license code. I would have just installed it for
him - but he didn't bring his laptop out on this trip. I have, however,
kept the original CD-IMAGE on my computer because I know that my parents can
sometimes experience computer problems.

As to my copy - I have been using TMG for some time now. In short, I
purchased two copies, one for myself (actually two for myself if you count
TMG 4) and one for my father.

As a computer professional I do not violate software copyright nor do I
condone those who do.

The problem is that my father has waited until now to install the software
and the license is not working. I have not spoken with him today to see
what his status is.

You and your dad should no be using the same registration number. You
can install TMG on up to three computers (home, laptop and work), IF you
only use ONE at a time. If you and your father are using the same unlock
code you are in violation of your license agreement.
