On or about 08:30 12/01/03 a carrier pigeon from Gordon Banks delivered:

Of course MySQL does have Windows-native implementations, and it
seems that with version 4 it now has an "embedded server" library which
might alleviate the problem of having to teach Windows users how to install
and run an RDBM server before running an application (though I do have
MySQL 3.x on my laptop -- WinXP -- as a boot-time service, and it is
available but not booted on my W98 desktop).
Porting the GUI would be a bigger problem (assuming VFP has fairly
normal SQL access)... Have to pick one of the few that are available on
both Linux and Windows: TCL/TK? Considering how many problems TMG5 has been
having with keyboard timing and menu interactions it may be way too soon to
consider dropping the Windows API (is TMG raw Win32 or is it MFC?).
