Subject: Re: [TMG] should I upgrade to v5.10?

I would advise any TMG user to upgrade to 5.10. This comes from my belief
that, we, the users, have a part to play in making TMG the best it can be. I have
to believe that reported bugs are noted by TMG and efforts will be made to
fix them. In that sense we act as a very large group of beta programmers. If I
had found any of the minor problems with 5.10 to be fatal errors or even close
to it, obviously my recommendation would be invalid. So far every glitch I
have personally had or have seen on this list can be worked around. So far I
have had three problems with 5.10. #1 is an occasional freeze up where the tool
bar refuses to accept access. Clicking off and back on TMG corrects that for a
while, but I know it will happen again until it is fixed. #2. F3, the repeat
key, does not do it's thing in the Reference field. I consistently get a
message telling me there are no repeat values in the field. The work around for this
is to use the copy and paste feature instead of repeat. The reference field
is the only field I have found which doesn't work correctly for F3 so if one
doesn't use that field for data entry you don't even need a work around. #3. I
use text macros a lot for data entry. For some reason all my text macro codes
seem to work just fine except F12. Selecting that code always gives me a screen
I don't even recognize, whether I have any text entered in F12 or not. I can
live with this bug but it does shorten my list of text macros to 11 instead of
12. Presumably people like me who have found such bugs will help TMG get them
fixed.-Dale
