Lee,

Ann has some corrupted repositories from copying other repositories and she
is trying to figure out which ones are corrupted so she and I can get them
cleaned up. What she really needs I think is a list that will tell her
everywhere a repository has been used, so that she can check that repository
to make sure it is correct. If it is, then it is fine, if it is not, then
it will have to be recreated and relinked. Since she has repositories
attached to tasks and exhibits, she is looking for an easy way to see which
are correct and which are linked incorrectly.

After the second message, I am even more confused as to what you want. But
I'll give it a try.

As for Exhibits, there is no report that will list them. Narrative reports
and a number of charts will include Exhibits, but no list reports will
include them. Note that this refers to the actual printing of Exhibits
although a number of report types can be generated based on the _number_ of
Exhibits. For example, you can produce a List of Repositories report based
on the number of Exhibits. You can also base the report on the Number of
Tasks or the Number of Incomplete Tasks. But you can only sort the report
by the Repository ID# or the Repository Name.

Now, you can run the List of Tasks report based on a variety of filter
conditions including whether the Tasks are attached to Repositories or
certain Repositories -- however there is no way (within TMG) to sort the
resulting report by the Repositories. You may generate a List of Tasks
report based on Repository ID# for certain ID#s or for a ranges of ID#s and
thus while they may not be sorted by ID#, the relatively low number of
Repositories in any one report may allow you to do your review work with
relative ease.


Personally, I attach very few Tasks to Repositories. Most of my Tasks are
attached to a person or to an event and can be researched at more than one
Repository -- although some Repositories are better candidates than others
for certain Tasks. For this reason, I include abbreviation codes (mostly
self-designed) for two or more Repositories as Keywords when I create a
Task. Later, I may enter other Keyword codes especially after I have gone
on a research trip and come up empty at one or more of the Repositories
represented by the Keyword codes. I will also add Keywords codes to some
Tasks when I am planning a research trip. Since I will usually be going to
certain Repositories during the trip, I review all incomplete Tasks and
consider whether I might be able to find anything on any one task at
places I intend to visit and if the Task is not coded for those places then
I add it/them. My final act before the trip is to print the List of Tasks
report based on the Keyword code of the places I intend to do research.
