I just got mine yesterday. I live in Homer, Alaska, where the motto is
"where the road ends and the sea begins." If you drive north and west, the
road ends in Homer. The most westerly part of the continuous road system in
North America is in Anchor Point, 15 miles north of here. (The road tucks
eastward a bit around the end of a peninsula to get to Homer.) You
literally drive south from Anchorage 220 miles, and then turn around to get
back. There are other communities along the way, but none of those roads
actually go anywhere. To go elsewhere (other than this peninsula) in Alaska
or out of the state, you have to turn around and go back north. So....Homer
is the LITERAL end of the road. At least in North America! :-)
