I recently downloaded & tried to import a large gedcom, some thirty
thousand individuals with either no project or a dataset open.

The file menu had the dataset manager greyed out, so I just clicked on
import, got the import wizard, got the gedcom advanced, and went through
the process.

Tried the import more than once. used "[X] Read NPFX / GIVN / SURN / NSFX
names" and another time didn't.

After the wait, did "Import - Tag Types Options" where I tried to sort the
tag types for 'name-var".

All i got for my wait was the name-var at the top of the detail window was
Unknown Unknown, but in the tag list, I had the regular name as in "John
Smith".

I have tried more than five times. Maybe, I should contact the author. :-)
