I created an Obituary tag but I am wondering if that is an "official Gedcom"
tag - will the info export properly when a Gedcom is created from the
database? Where do other people put their obituaries?

Karla,

I have created 4 templates for the Scottish Old Parochial Registers (OPRs):

OPR - FILMED

OPR - INDEX

OPR - ORIGINAL

OPR - TRANSCRIPT

They can be downloaded from: http://www.tmgtips.com/uksrctypes.htm

The templates for OPR - FILMED are as follows:

FULL FOOTNOTE:

Microfilm of the Old Parochial Register of [EVENT TYPE], [PARISH], [PERIOD]
([REPOSITORY], [FILM NUMBER]). <"[CD]">

Output:

Microfilm of the Old Parochial Register of Baptisms, Marriages and Burials,
Coupar Angus, Perthshire, 1682-1854 (LDS Family History Centre, Portsmouth,
Hampshire, Film 993417). <"[CD]">.

SHORT FOOTNOTE:

Microfilm OPR, [PARISH], [PERIOD]. <"[CD]">

Output:

Microfilm OPR, Coupar Angus, Perthshire, 1682-1854. <"[CD]">

BIBLIOGRAPHY:

Microfilm of the Old Parochial Register of [EVENT TYPE], [PARISH], [PERIOD]
([REPOSITORY], [FILM NUMBER])

Output:
