I just ran into what you are seeing. I think the answer is that when a new
individual is added, TMG calculates the relationship for that one
individual. If the relationship exists at that instant, it shows up in the
tag. If it doesn't, then it shows no relationship. This only changes when
the option is toggled off then back on. Then all the relationships are
re-calculated. You don't have to check all the other people individually or
enter them in a particular sequence to get correct relationships to show up.

Subject: [TMG] Relationship calculator (2)
I'm a fairly new user of TMG and have been entering a lot of new data into
my copy of TMG 5.11. I have recently turned the relationship calculator on
and I have noticed that an incorrect relation (at least by my reckoning) is
calculated in the following instance:
Parent A (direct relative) and Parent B (no relation) - if I create a child
"C" using parent "B" as the "primary(?)" parent (ie. while in the "Person
View" on parent "B" and click the "Add Person" button, Parent "A" - the
direct relative- as the *other* parent identified in the pop-up box) once
child "C" is entered into the data, the relationship calculator displays "No
direct relationship."
If I enter child "C" while in the person view for Parent "A" (direct
relation), using parent "B" as the *other* parent, the relationship
correctly calculates the relation.
Am I incorrect in assuming that the relationship to me is the same no
matter?
I appreciate any feedback to this dilemma. I think I'm going to have to go
back and look at all my previous entries to ensure that I've entered them
"correctly" if my assumption is not correct.
Thanks,
Ron Hamlin
