Hi, Janis:

John Cardinal's TMG Utility for Version 5 (TMGU4 may work the same way) can be used to set the Living Flag to 'N' for persons who have BMDB events before year YYYY. TMGU5 also provides separate options to change the flag for persons with five generations of descendants, or for persons who have at least one descendant that meets the "BMDB event before year YYYY" rule. As usual, you can run the process "log only" and see which ID numbers would be affected before committing to the change.

Subject: [TMG] living flag for WOW! second site purposes

HI,

I have never universally set flags - just used them manually for certain purposes, like to indicate whether or not an individual has been located in a particular census year.

I am so in love with Second Site, which I have only had for two days, and I rolled out website pages that I LOVE in the few minutes that I have had to play with it (busy time for me elsewhere right now).

I want, of course, to exclude the living, but my living flag only reads 'N' for those who have a death date. I know I will have to do some manual clean-up on this, but isn't there a way to universally reset the flag from ? to N for anyone who was born before 1915?
