Subject: [TMG] FTM Import and Footnotes

Greetings to all from a TMG newbie. I've outgrown Family Tree Maker, so
I've decided to work with TMG. I realize that I have much learning to do,
but after a number of imports and other research, I'm stumped regarding the
wherabouts of my FTM footnotes and could really use some help. For those of
you not familiar, FTM allows the user to perform a Ctrl+S on any database
field and insert a Source. The source box consists of three main areas:
the Master Source (which populates the Bibliography), the Citation (which is
the direct application of the Source to the field), and a place to type
footnotes that are neither Sources or Citations. FTM will repeat the
Source/Citation in the footnote if the user so desires (which I do).

I have used the footnotes feature in FTM extensively for the 3700+ members
of my database. Many of these footnotes include lengthy text including
anecdotes, obituaries, family lore, etc. When I performed an import into
TMG (both GEDCOM and driectly from the FTW file), all of the footnote
*references* appear, but when I check the content, only the Source/Citation
information has come into TMG. None of the text is there. Thus, my
Endnotes section in my Descendant Narrative report includes only Source data
(and a zillion Ibid's). Did the footnotes import into TMG? If so, where
are they and why can't I display them? If they didn't, how do I get them in
there?

Help MUCH appreciated!

Thanks,

Gregory Winters
