I will be releasing a new version of Second Site soon*. There have been a lot of
changes, including new page formats, new properties, and new commands in the
user interface. A small but loyal set of volunteers have been testing the
program for me. I'd like to expand the size of that group, partly because of the
scope of the changes, but mostly because the new version depends on some
additional Microsoft components and I want to make sure the program is tested
with as many different installations of those components as possible.

(In this case, "soon" means within weeks or months. Not less, but maybe more. It
depends! Don't ask. <g>)

In addition, I'd like the group to include people who are interested in the new
page formats. You can see the new formats via the following link.

I am not looking for computer-savvy users. You will have to install the new
version, and you may have to install some components from Microsoft. Those steps
are no different from what you will need to do when the new version is released.
If you volunteer, I will add you to a mailing list for testers and I will send
you a URL and password to download the latest beta version. I prefer testers who
check their e-mail frequently, at least once a day and preferably more often.

I do not expect testers to devote a lot of time and effort to testing. At
minimum, I need testers to install the new version, rebuild their site, and
review the results. Some testers do methodical testing of new features, and I
appreciate that tremendously, but I can not expect that level of commitment from
everyone.

Testers usually give their opinion about what new features are desirable, and
how they should work. The more testing you do, the more weight is given to those
opinions! <g>

If you do not have a registered copy of Second Site, you can't be a volunteer.
