For genealogical purposes, you are either cousins or not -- "half-cousins"
is not a valid genealogical term (according to the "experts"). So if your
cousin is descended from your G-GF, then she _is_ your cousin. But if she
is descended from his 2nd wife and not through him, there is no relation.
This does not mean that the social relationship is not there. I have a
number of "cousins" who are in no way related to me -- except by
marriage. A couple of them are closer than some of my "blood relatives".
