Thanks for the explanation.
I have been doing some digging into the Married flag.
In Generations it is possible to inspect the Marriage Status flag by
running a report either on individuals or on couples. For these blank
marriages with no marriage place or date and no children, nevertheless
the Marriage Status is set to "Marriage".
Other settings of this Marriage Status are:
blank where there is no spouse but there are children
blank where there is no spouse or children
"Unmarried" when set to that, usually because they had children
"Divorced"
"Separated"
My conclusion is that Gen Bridge is in fact not correctly (or at all?)
picking up the value to the Marriage Status flag from Generations.

This I have done and it works well. It took only a few seconds to do
three thousand couples.

As I have previously reported the time it will take to do this makes the
task infeasible for me. And I asked if there were any alternatives.
The obvious option is to get Gen Bridge to recognise the Marriage
Status correctly.
As an alternative I have started to see if I can use John Cardinal's
Utility to repair things. Apparently there is a facility to create
events from a file. One can create Marriage events. I think I can
make a file from Generations of the IDs of couples who have no marriage
data and no children either (this is proving difficult and requires
loads of transformations within Excel to pick up both person IDs).
Fortunately TMG copies the ID numbers from Generations so such a file
will be valid. Does anyone reckon that I will be able to set Marriage
tags in this way?
