Can't check that as I have and use version 8.5a, though I did start with
Reunion 4.2.

My mileage varies...

I have checked on my current Generations file. The only cases where the
marriage flag is unset is where the "couple" consists of one person
only, with or without children. I would not expect them to show up as
a Marriage in TMG and they don't.

But for the couples with two people, all the marriage flags are set.
This can be seen by running a report for couples in the "Find Anything"
window. Then when the couples are shown, select that one of the three
columns shows their Marriage Status. The setting may be any of
"Marriage", "Unmarried", "Divorced", etc. None of the marriage flags
are unset. If there is no marriage data, such as date, place or
citation, then they are not imported as a marriage into TMG, or at
least not into my version of TMG 5.14. I have run the import twice to
make sure of things. My firm conclusion is that (my) TMG ignores
marriage flag settings of "Marriage" when there is no other marriage
information.

So I am perplexed at your experience that such couples are imported as
married.

I know of no such method either. The only way to set the marriage flag
that I know of is to do this for each couple individually. But then my
experience is that for all of them, my errors apart, the Marriage Flag
is set correctly.

Mind you Generations does have two (visible accesses to) Marriage flags:
one can be found in reports for individuals, where it gives the Marriage
status for the Preferred Marriage. The other is in reports for couples
where it can be shown and reveals the status of each couple. I wonder
if this might have anything to do with the problem I have found?
