That's not what I see. I see no way to determine the setting of the Marriage
flag with the report. The Marriage Status flag (a different flag) can be
used for this report.
Find Anything report
Couples
Marriage Status Is (parameter)
Parameter: (blank), Divorce, Separation, Annulment
I tested all varieties of this report to confirm the outcomes.
If I run:
Marriage Status Is Marriage
I get: 'There are No Matches' because 'Marriage' is not a Married Status
flag setting.
The report does not have a 'Married' filter to list couples with the various
Marriage flag settings. I guess that Marriage Status Is (blank) sort of does
this through the back door but it clearly does not reflect the actual status
for the Marriage flag.
I then retested the import to TMG based on the two flags: Marriage and
Marriage Status
I did misstate one item earlier. I've found that when you create a new
couple on a Family Card in Generations 8.5a, the Marriage flag is not set
until the Family Edit screen is opened and saved.
I tested every variant of the Marriage flag setting and the Marraige Status
flag setting. Import was correct in every case.
New database
Add a male and a female to a Family Card
1) Import to TMG - no Marriage event is created
2) Open and Save the Edit Family screen You can see that the Marriage flag
is set to Marriage and the Marriage Status flag is set to None.
Import to TMG - Marriage event is created
3) Open / set Marriage flag to Unmarried / Save the Edit Family screen
Import to TMG - Unmarried event is created
4) Open / set Marriage flag to Common Law / Save the Edit Family screen
Import to TMG - Common Law event is created
5) Open / set Marriage flag to Marriage / Save the Edit Family screen
Import to TMG - Marriage event is created
6) Open / set Marriage flag to Marriage / Set Marriage Status flag to
Divorce / Save the Edit Family screen
Import to TMG - Marriage and Divorce events are created
7) Open / set Marriage flag to Marriage / Set Marriage Status flag to
Separation / Save the Edit Family screen
Import to TMG - Marriage and Separation events are created
8) Open / set Marriage flag to Marriage / Set Marriage Status flag to
Annulment / Save the Edit Family screen
Import to TMG - Marriage and Annulment events are created
9) Open / set Marriage flag to Common Law / Set Marriage Status flag to
Divorce / Save the Edit Family screen
Import to TMG - Common Law and Divorce events are created
10) Open / set Marriage flag to Common Law / Set Marriage Status flag to
Separation / Save the Edit Family screen
Import to TMG - Common Law and Separation events are created
11) Open / set Marriage flag to Common Law / Set Marriage Status flag to
Annulment / Save the Edit Family screen
Import to TMG - Common Law and Annulment events are created
12) Open / set Marriage flag to Marriage / Save the Edit Family screen
Import to TMG - Marriage event is created
The TMG import exactly reflects the data for the marriage flags in the
Generations database. It's hard to argue that it's not working correctly.

But you have no way to demonstrate that short of actually examining the
Generations database directly. The TMG import is actually an excellent
filter for determining the setting of the generations Marriage flag as
demonstrated in the experiments above.

That is an entirely different database flag setting and has no bearing on
the setting of the Marriage flag.
