Thanks for this admirably brief illustration of the problem.

You are, of course quite right.

This is the weird bit. Why, I wonder? Let's add in a fact:

If you do a "Find Anything" report on _Couples_ and use a criterion such
as:

<# of Children> <Less Than> <50>

You will bring up all couples (all one of them) in a "Found List"
display.

Then select one of the columns on the "Found List" display to show
"Marriage Status".

In both cases of unsaved and saved marriages this column clearly shows
"Marriage".

Anyhow, curiouser and curiouser.

Generations has a Marriage flag that is set to "Marriage" the moment
the marriage is created. TMG only picks up the status of this flag if
the Generations marriage has been saved.

I think there is a solution to this conundrum, let's guess:

TMG is picking up a separate Status flag of the Marriage Record. This
Marriage Record flag might have two values: "Created" and "Amended".
But this is the wrong Status flag. There is also a "Marriage Status"
flag which is the one that Generations shows on all reports.

If my explanation is not the right one, then there has to be another
one as the Generations "Marriage Status" flag is clearly set to
"Marriage" from the moment the marriage is created. I will be
interested to hear what the true explanation is of the problem
appearing within TMG.
