Actually both are can be needed whether TMG supplies them or one adds them
by hand. There are relationships with some length to them that would
certainly fall under cohabiting as well as those who cohabit for a period
of time before marriage for which a "Cohabitation" tag would be
appropriate. There are also those who never live together as man and wife
but have a relationship extending over time such as a man with a wife and a
mistress for whom the "Unmarried" tag would be appropriate. Although
perhaps that tag would be better named "Liaison". And then there are those
whose connection is as tenuous as a few moments in the back of a car or a
barn or somewhere but with a resulting child or other consequences for whom
perhaps the "Unmarried" tag would be more appropriate.
I have only recently begun using the more enabling features of TMG such as
creating one's own tags and instead used a marriage tag for such
relationships putting "NOT MARRIED" in the memo. I need to create these
tags and switch this for some of my people.
