I am trying to create a flag to highlight my ancestors as opposed to my

is List of People who are an ancestor or descendant on #000 with the
option to change the my ancestor flag to Y.

The screen print report includes all names, but flag change is not
occurring for my mother's family.

Thank you

Jane,

First, I assume the "Ancestor and Descendant on #000" is a typo as no
individual carries a ID of zero. I assume this ID is your ID meaning one run versus
the ID of your parents requiring two runs?

You say, "The screen print report includes all names, but flag change is not
occurring for my mother's family."

This has me confused. You say the run identifies both your father
ancestors/descendants and your mother's ancestors/descendants but only your father's
side has their ancestor flag changed. I have a hard time accepting this. I
think there is something you have not mentioned or I am not understanding this
correctly.

There is only one run, correct?

You say, "with the option to change the my ancestor flag to Y"

I don't understand how you can set a request where you run the request and
you automatically change the ancestor flag and you run the request again and you
don't change it?

An aside, if you are expecting the flag to identify your father's side
independent of your mother's side, having a value of "Y" won't do it. That is,
later on you would like to use the flag to select your father side in one run and
your mother's side in another run.

Going a little bit into the future, lets look at your children. Lets say you
have one flag with a value for each of your parents and for each of your
husbands, that is, four values representing each family line, what value do you
assign to your children as all four values apply to them? I might suggest you
need four flags one for each family line and your children will show they are a
member of each.
