Bill,
Sounds as if you have some other "general" computer
problems...spyware.
I use the freeware version of Ad-aware from Lavasoft
found at:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
Also I use the Google toolbar that has a built in
pop-up blocker from:
http://toolbar.google.com/
Both are free products that work rather well.
There are another set of products from Webroot
Software that will do the same, but they have a fee.
I do like the webroot site though, because they have
free online scaners to let you know what maybe on your
system.

Try and "clean" your system to and I'll bet the
"pop-up" problem will go away.
