Use of XP's System Restore worked like a charm for me. (I have XP Pro, not
sure if is same on XP Home). Procedure as follows:
1. Back up TMG and any other critical data files, just in case.
2. Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
3. Choose "Restore my computer to an earlier time", push "Next".
4. Choose the date you installed SP2. There should be an entry labeled
"Installed Windows XP Service Pack 2" that was created automatically just
BEFORE SP2 was installed. Select it.
5. Push "Next" and follow the prompts.
Doing this restore to an earlier point should automatically create a new
restore point on the current date, so you can easily reverse the removal of
SP2 if you change your mind and want to restore the SP2 configuration
without doing a full reinstall.
