Yes by design. The given name is filled from the primary Name Var Tag.
MJ in 'my' Name-Marr tag, I see only Surname and SortName, I would
like her forename to have been written in, at least

Why do you want a Suffix entered?
MJIn the Tag Entry screen, I am offered names derived from Primary Name or
Name-Var or Name-Marr, I wish to use the details that are stored in
Name-Marr in all tags post her Marriage, in the form Jane Bull nee Jones
(where Jane is in the Name-Marr field of GivenName, Bull has been derived
from Surname, the surname of her husband and nee Jones from Suffix that has
been derived from her Maiden surname and the word nee prepended using J.C's
Utils. I then use the name in a sentence that outputs in a form similar to
the following: Jane Smith nee Jones was Buried etc.

In Ver 4 and I assume in Ver 5 also, if you have any other field but the
Surname populated, the Suppress Married Names in a Journal Report will
not work and the sentence "Her married name was xxxxx" will print. I do
not know if having a Suffix will cause this.
MJI do not 'see' this in my version of TMG, it appears to print fully as I
would expect.

If woman does not assume her husband's surname at marriage, then having
a Nam-Marr with her birth name will print and show that she did not change
it.
MJin my project of some 14000 persons, I do not have any record of a woman
who has not adopted the husband's surname !!! To be fair I DO NOT use the
tag Name-Marr in my Reports, excluding it by not selecting the tag in the
Report, but use the name format that it produces to show her married name
and maiden name in various tags sentences, in Reports.
