I like the idea. I've been thinking of trying this but it is a tedious task.

Another enhancement: it looks really nice if the entries are set off by CR's
and TABS.

Here's a preliminary experiment with the 1790 census (not quite as daunting).

[:CR:][:TAB:][P] was recorded in the < [L4]> < [L5]> < [L6]> Federal census
<at [L2]> <[L3]> <[D]>. Based on ages, it is possible that the following
were also living in the household:<[:CR:][:TAB:][:TAB:]Free White Males 16 and
up: [R:FWM16UP].><[:CR:][:TAB:][:TAB:]Free White Males under 16:
[R:FWMU16].><[:CR:][:TAB:][:TAB:]Free White Females:
[R:FWFemales].><[:CR:][:TAB:][:TAB:]Other Free Persons: [R:OtherFreePersons].><[:CR:][:TAB:][:TAB:]Slaves:
[R:Slaves].><[:CR:][:TAB:][M]>

Stuart,

I have a sentence with roles for the early census. This is 1790

[:CR:][:TAB:][PF] is <[M3]> head of household on the census <of [D]> <[L]>
<as [M2].> <[M1]>. Enumerated with him were <[M3]> <[R:Munder16], the free
white males under age 16,> <[R:M16+], the free white males over age 16,> <and
[R:Female free], the free white females>. <[M4]>

e.g.
The household consisted of 1 free white male age 16 years and up and 1
female||Arthur Emmom, a free white male age 16 years and up||perhaps
M1 is a description of the household
M2 is the head of household and which person in the description he is
M3 is perhaps because the early census are not very definitive.
M4 is any comments I have about discrpencies in the household

None of the famlies I have dealt with are slave holders so I didn't add that
to my sentence.
