Good Evening Listers
I now get about two or three 'grey-outs' a day, totally repeatable.
At the moment I am entering a huge amount of new data from lists sent to me
by a fellow researcher. I need to check if I have the information already
and have multiple windows open [in a modified style to the one that Teresa
uses].
The PE is linked to other Windows, and I apply a filter to make the contents
of the PE specific to my current enquiry, in this case it takes the form of:
Surname = [?] AND
Given Name contains [?] AND
Fathers Name Group contains Given Name [?] END

The PE List is sorted on Primary Birth Date, this now gives me a sub-set
with which I can more readily identify say all occurrences of John son of
James, in date of birth order etc

If I now find a new person in the paper lists sent to me and proceed to
enter them into my project without clearing the filter in the PE, TMG
freezes and the greyout occurs, the only remedy is to Check for Update and
re-enter the program. This is totally consistent, unfortunately, but I am
used to it now. I regularly Re-index and Optimise during the day and always
before Backing up at the end of a session, such as stopping for lunch etc.
As I am used to this happening and as no data seems to be lost I am
somewhat reconciled to it, but would dearly love it not to happen!!!

FYI - I am using Windows XP Home - AMD 2.8 MHz processor and 512Mb RAM
