If the data in the Roots III file is the same or very close to the same, as
the data in the UFT file (with the exception of the data you lost via
GEDCOM) I would use the data in the Roots III file to convert to TMG.

There is a problem doing this as TMG 5 does not support GenBridge from Roots
III. You can GenBridge the Roots III data into TMG 4 and then into TMG 5 or
you can use an old Roots IV, Roots V, Virtual Roots or UFT and GenBridge one
of them directly into TMG 5 if you have a good copy of one of these files.

If you do not have a copy of TMG 4 I am sure someone will assist you with
the conversion from Roots III if that is what you decide to do.
