Hi,
Wow, thanks for the speedy response. I no longer have any of the old
Roots programs, especially those that ran on DOS. I have UFT on the
computer but no longer have the disks or manuals. Wish I had kept an
old DOS computer and my Roots III. None of the follow-ups to R3 were as
nice. I don’t have TMG 4 as I am still debating the purchase based upon
playing with the 30-day trial of TMG5.
Well, maybe I'll contact TMG tech support and see what they can suggest
or offer. I'd love to go back to the R3 database and come forward from
there. I'd have to re-enter a very few people and all of my footnotes
and references might come through much cleaner.
Thanks for the thoughts.

Laurie
If the data in the Roots III file is the same or very close to the same,
as
the data in the UFT file (with the exception of the data you lost via
GEDCOM) I would use the data in the Roots III file to convert to TMG.
There is a problem doing this as TMG 5 does not support GenBridge from
Roots
III. You can GenBridge the Roots III data into TMG 4 and then into TMG 5
or
you can use an old Roots IV, Roots V, Virtual Roots or UFT and GenBridge
one
of them directly into TMG 5 if you have a good copy of one of these
files.
If you do not have a copy of TMG 4 I am sure someone will assist you
with
the conversion from Roots III if that is what you decide to do.
