E-mail addresses are unique, whereas names are not. That's the important thing; it doesn't matter whether your e-mail address changes after you buy the program. When you key it into the registration screen, it isn't used as an e-mail address... it's used as an identifier. Yes, you have to remember it, but you'd have to remember any string of characters they asked you to supply. Again--name isn't enough.
