Using ROLES for the first time, I am setting up roles for the pre 1850 US censuses. Is there a limit to the length of the role name?

I have ver 5.11gold. Am trying to create rolename of [R:free wh males 10-14] but the line will not accept all of that ... stopping at "R:free wh males 10-1". I am turning to this group as I have exhausted myself in trying to locate an answer on the help line and in the 2 manuals.
