Actually the fact of illegitimate birth is the fault of both parents but
the bastard is the one that pays the price. That is the way we humans do
-- always placing blame on the wrong persons rather than determining what
the problem may have been in the first place and working out ways to
prevent the situation again.

Thus there is no other way in (standard) TMG to show an illegitimate birth
but to use the BirthIlleg Tag which of course attaches to the child. On
the other hand, there are ways you can document the situation as a Custom
situation in TMG.

One is to make a Custom Tag in which both parents are entered as Principals
and the child is shown as a Witness. If you wish you could just use the
standard Note Tag and adjust the Tag and Witness Sentences as you desire.

A second and more truthful method, that is not very good for narrative
reports, is to create a Custom -ILL Relationship Tag. By this, I mean that
you would create a Custom Tag in the Relationship Tag Group and name it
"Ill". This effectively creates six Relationship Tags (Child-Ill, Dau-Ill,
Father-Ill, Mother-Ill, Parent-Ill, and Son-Ill). You would use one of the
to document the relationships of the parents to the child showing the most
truthful relationship.

The problem with this last is that while relationships other than normal
biological ones exist, narrative reports do not show them. That is, all
reports only show the basic parent-child relationship but no adjective
(i.e., illegitimate, adopted, etc.) is attached to to relationship and thus
the implications is that the relationship is a normal biological one. You
may still wish to show the correct parent-child relationship _and_ include
the Note (or other) Tag to show the actual relationship in narrative reports.

Hope this helps -
