Lee,
If I put it in the repository memo, (using the microfilm roll as the
repository) I only have to put the information in one time. If I put it in
the task memo (for the will, deed etc) I have to enter it many times (which
means I tend to lose consistency.) If I order the film for my 5th great
grandfather Gee and my husband's 4th great grandfather Duncan lived in the
same area at the same time, I am only ordering the film once (the
repository), but I am going to look for at least two wills on the roll (the
task). See why to me it makes more sense to attach it to the repository
memo. In the task memo, I am going to have "will book 7, page 42" or "will
book 8, page 109", so I definitely want the task memo to print as well.
Then in the event memo, I am going to have something like "mentions wife and
four children." I want that to print too.
I ordered a roll of will books today for my line I just discovered.
Searching my database for people who had wills in that county, I found 8
more people who I need to get copies from that same roll. This is time
consuming to set up, but I am finding it very prosperous in helping with
research clues.
