It's surprised me that this list could have a discussion of a complex
subject like calendars without citing any sources other than things on the
web, none of which have any citations to scholarly sources. After all, we
are a group of people who have chosen a genealogy program one of whose
outstanding features is its ability to handle citations to sources.
I hope my comment doesn't come across as criticizing. I love this
list -- I've learned a lot from many people's contributions, and I have a
lot of respect for not only the helpfulness but also the intelligence of
people who enter into the discussions we have. But this time there seems to
be a bit of a lapse.
