Thank you Elizabeth.
Actually, my database was brought forward from TMG V.5 into TMG V.6 as soon as V.6 was available, and it came from TMG V.4 into V.5 when V.5 was first released. So MOST of the errors from the long-ago import from Family Tree Maker into TMG V.4 have been found and fixed. The relationships are good -- I double-checked them -- these are biological children of both the father and mother. Even weirder -- in the same family, some children print out and some don't. And I've discovered that the nature of the error is slightly different on the home computer than the office computer. These are both relatively new AMD Athlon PCs, running Win XP Pro SP2, with plenty of RAM and hard disk. On the office machine, the report number of the child, and a period is all that prints for a child that has the blanking problem. But on the PC at home, in some cases the person's report number and a period prints, and then on the next line (as if the text were wrapped) the sentence prints correc!
tly, so the form of it looks like this:
+323 . Joe Dokes was born in 1863 at Fruitville. Joe Dokes married Jane Jones

Then on down in the report when you get to the page with #323 on it, there is Joe Dokes and his family presented correctly.
So it's a little different on the 2 different computers. I also have to amend my observation that it prints correctly when output for MS Word 6. That was true at home, but here at the office there were still a couple of blanked children, but less than in HTML or Word 8, so there's still some anomaly at work even in Word 6.
Thanks for the help -- I'll keep experimenting and see if I can isolate the phenomenon.
Don
