Actually in Sacramentally centered churches like Roman Catholic and Anglicans
(Episcopal) the stated way is not sprinkling but pouring the water.
Immersion is done but very rarely. There are probablysome other faith practices that
suggest pouring over head no matter how little water is used.

WE teased my very devout grandmother that she wasn't baptized back in 1894
because when her mom took her to the Anglican Church to be baptized privately he
was leaving on vacation and very rude as well as unchristian. She marched
down the street and found the Presbyterian minister who baptized her.
