Hi, Zohar:
As another programmer once said, "You are only as good as the code that you steal." Before you get carried away writing your own, I think you should still look at Second Site. If you create a custom XSTL Format, which would work with Second Site's intermediate XML output, you can skip selecting and extracting the data, and go straight to arranging, and differentially hiding, anything you want.
To make that approach work, you need only make sure, in TMG, that you create separate Tag Types for the "personal" information, and enter the data accordingly. The XSTL can process based on Tag Type. And this is not the only, nor even necessarily the best, approach, that is available. As a Web programmer, you can probably make the XSTL jump through hoops.
