The easiest answer is to consider what _you_ would need to find the
information that supports the data that is being cited. A lot depends on
the Source and how you create it. For example, some Sources will require
nothing in the Citation Detail and others will need a considerable amount.

A Source for a Birth Certificate giving all the certificate identifying
information would need little (if any) entry in the Citation Detail. But a
Source for a Birth Register that is fairly generic would need more data
entered in the Citation Detail.

So look at your Source Citation and ask yourself if any added information
is needed to find the records you want. If all the information is in the
citation, then you do not need to enter anything in the Citation
Detail. But if the citation just point to the registry or an index, you
may need more data to help you find the specific book, page, record, etc.
