Subject: Deleting parts of Master Place List

I have many thousands of places that are not used for any events. Is there a
way of removing them from the Master Place List (MPL)? I am looking for an
easy and simple way of removing them. I am at present using this method:
Open Tools - MPL then highlighting one of the places and checking the Events
button, if not events then wait a few seconds then Edit the place and
manually delete the entries, the wait another several seconds for the
program to "collect places" and to "update the MPL" The whole process for
removing one place takes 20 to 25 seconds, very time consuming even with no
other programs running.

I suspect that the MPL became overpopulated with these extra places in the
way that the database imported from Roots2 to Roots3 to Roots5 to TMG5.? on
to TMG5.15 which is what I am using now.
