If a place is not used anywhere in TMG, you may select
File=>Maintenance=>Optimize and the unused placed will be deleted _IF_ the
places do not have anything in the Start Year, End Year, Comments, or Short
Place fields.
If you have tried the Optimize function and are sure that the place is not
used anywhere in your project (including the Master Repository List), then
open the Master Place List (MPL), find that place record and edit it. In
the Edit Place window, go to (in turn) the Short Place, Start Year, End
Year, and Comments fields. For each of these, press Control+A to highlight
the field and press the Delete key. (The Year fields will continue to have
zero in them). When finished click on the [OK] button to save that place
record change. After you have done this to the pertinent place records,
[Close] the MPL and try the Optimize function. this should eliminate the
unused places.
Hope this helps -
