I'm experimenting with the "use short place name" option for a pedigree
chart. The default setting from the Options>Current Project Options>Other
is: <[L3],> <[L5],> <[L6]>

But I want to end up with something like this: Lanark, Carroll Co., IL

I know I can pick up the county by adding <[L4]> to the output, but "County"
will be spelled out since that is how I have entered it throughout my
database. There is an option on the report definition screen to select
state postal abbreviations, but I don't see anyway to make an across the
board change from County to Co. as part of the "short place name" selection.
Do I need to go into each place entry in the master place list and enter
exactly what I want in the short place name field? Or is there a better way
to do this?
