No, Don't do this. Then all the events that were pointing to that place
(assuming there might be one) will now be pointing to that state.

If you edit the unused places by leaving only the state and use the same

standard, and have no comments or start stop dates ect.

P.S. Would be nice if there were an easier way to clean up the place file.

I have spent a lot of time cleaning mine up.
