My 3g-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth (NEWCOMB) KARG was listed on the 1900
census as 57 years old. It says she had 17 children, but only 3 were
living. I have found birth and/or death records for 6 of the 14 children
who didn't survive. Of those 6, the oldest lived less than 3 years. Most
died in their first year.
