Thanks to Terry, Pat and Joe, I think I've got it!. My first problem was
struggling with the focus group....but, success, finally, I've created a focus
group with only 6 generations and their spouses! (it was not limiting the
generations). The trick is that after you've selected the number of generations
and added others, you must deselect generations, select all and add spouses,
then add others. If you don't deselect generations, the results reflect 6
generations down from all generations, which of course takes you to your most
recent descendent. Surely there's a better way to do this! Has no one else
gone in circles on this?
From the Focus Group, I created a GEDCOM, successfully eliminating having to
go through FTM. I then created a new Project from the GEDCOM to review any
info I might want to delete and rename it "edited". I then converted my
pristine, edited Project back to a GEDCOM and uploaded to Rootsweb!
Question: Can you create a Project from a Focus Group? (and avoid having to
create the GEDCOM a second time?)
