Please - what does "metadata" mean? I know what data means - but "meta"?? Couldn't find it on Wikipedia or my dictionary. Sounds kinda geekish.......

I'm working on lots of old photos (some already in TMG, most not) and am
wondering how I can print out pages of them with their metadata,
specifically the description. What I want is a kind of a cross between an
album and a contact sheet--photos big enough to recognize, but small enough
to fit a fair number to a page since the purpose is wholly utilitarian. For
example, one use would be to spread pages of unidentified photos out on the
table and see if any were repeated in more than one album. Another use
would be to put newer ones in a binder for my parents to refer to and write
notes on (they can use a computer, but at a very basic level).

My hope is that this will help get more photos properly annotated and ready
to put on the Web or share.

I have both Photoshop CS and Irfanview.
