Metadata is the information you attach to the file--for instance, a digital
camera attaches details about the exposure. In Photoshop and other
programs, you can type in descriptions, photographer name, and copyright
information, among other things. Unfortunately, most of the time you can't
see any of this, you have to open up a special window. There are several
types of metadata but I don't really know what the difference is, only that
different windows in IMatch bring up different data.
