First, my apologies for having this appear under the Death Tag thread.
I'm learning Thunderbird and it behaves differently than Eudora. I now
know that.

Second, a point of interest if anyone tries to duplicate my item 2
above. I tried that field, entering a state name (where I had had the
MPL sorted by that field originally). I was returned to the MPL at the
original location. When I reopened the edit screen the search field I
had reported was not there. No subsequent operation I have tried
brought it up again. I did not try a reinstallation.
