Hello again
For those who followed the previous thread........................
I have stumbled across a program called PEDSYS which provides all the calculations I am looking for........in order to further study a population of early settlers.
Input to PEDSYS is from a TMG report (in text format) listing persons held in the TMG database showing ID, Sex, Father's ID and Mother's ID
PEDSYS has a Kinship module which calculates coefficients using either the Stevens-Boyce or Quaas-Henderson algorithm [A J Boyce(1983) Journal of Heredity 74:400-404].
Because I have many pedigrees rather than just one, the calculations may be performed in stages.
This exercise has been well worth while even if I only now have a clear understanding of how the coefficient is worked out where there are multiple common ancestors.
