I just did my final import from UFT a week or so ago, so I haven't done that
much editing yet. I also chose to import only tag types that I used.
What are the advantages and disadvantages in choosing either one. If it
makes a difference I will import again and re-edit. Also I would appreciate
some converts from UFT to share the other options to import that worked out
best for them.
I also used the simple wizard instead of the advanced wizard. Is that a
problem?
Thanks,
Bob Beyer

If I hadn't done a lot of editing, I would reimport. I think the UFT
sentences were better created and gave me a much better starting place than
the ones with TMG.

Subject: [TMG] Importing UFT Tag Types
Could the UFT Refugees amongst the list please help? I made the mistake
of
answering no to the question"Import all tag types?" and chose "just the
ones that I had used" when importing my first project from UFT to TMG.
Big
mistake! Choose "Import all" Then you've got the lot.
To try to compensate I imported another small project from UFT keeping it as
a separate dataset within my one project, this time choosing all tag types
to be imported. TMG groaned and whinged but I had all of the tag types
available after the import.
Now I haven't. Don't know what happened but I'm back to the list that was
available after the first import. Even when I make all datasets active.
I really would like all of the UFT tag types to be available. Forgot to
mention I am using TMG 6.02 UK and have up to UFT 2.9 UK available on CD.
Would
I benefit from starting again? Download 6.02 UK and import into it a small
one man UFT 2.9 UK project complete with all tag types. Would I then have
to
mess about to merge projects so as to achieve UK place styles etc? I
could
then restore my current project.
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
