Darrell, as I was thinking, I realized that part of our difference is how we
treat our exhibits. I suspect most of your exhibits are images that are
intended to be inline in the report (you insistence on the caption needing
the context of the usage), my exhibits (except for the primary person image)
are all out of line links. They would be end notes / appendixes in paper,
and off page links in the hypertext version. I suppose that if I could
control better where they went, I might put a few more inline, but for the
most part they are supplemental information. As such they, in general, DON'T
have a "context" in there usage but stand mostly alone. My desire for a
Master Exhibit List would be to remove redundancy out of the report, letting
TMG see that the multiple usages of the same exhibit don't need to be
repeated but just all reference the same exhibit.
If TMG were to be modified for a more detailed handling of exhibits both
model need to be handled. In fact it might be nice to have some way to flag
a given usage of an exhibit/image to be put inline if the report can support
it.
